This year CKFS are partnering with Cheltenham International Film Festival to bring you two extra films to our season.
Cheltenham International Film Festival (CIFF) was founded in 2018 to bring the best in world and independent cinema to our town. In just seven years, CIFF has screened hundreds of films — features, documentaries, and shorts — from both celebrated and emerging filmmakers, and hosted masterclasses, Q&As, and live events that connect audiences with the culture of cinema, the rush of collective viewing, and the art of filmmaking.
For more information on the festival and other films they offer see their website here.

Scrapper
19th September
Charlotte Regan’s award-winning debut is a dazzlingly original take on family, resilience, and imagination. At twelve years old, Georgie lives alone in her East London flat, hustling bikes for cash and keeping social services at bay with quick thinking and big lies. Her world of colourful DIY inventions and make-believe kingdoms is suddenly upended when her long-absent father turns up out of nowhere — scrappy, charming, and utterly unprepared for parenthood.
Full of wit, warmth, and a distinctively British sense of humour, Scrapper captures the magic and mess of childhood resilience. With luminous performances (newcomer Lola Campbell alongside Harris Dickinson) and bursts of surreal comedy, it’s a heart-breaker wrapped in glitter and duct tape.

Polite Society
3rd October
Blending martial arts mayhem with sharp social satire, Nida Manzoor’s Polite Society is a genre-busting action-comedy like no other. Ria Khan, a teenage aspiring stuntwoman, dreams of pulling off the perfect fight sequence. But when her beloved sister Lena announces a sudden engagement, Ria suspects something sinister and recruits her friends for a wild mission to rescue her sister from the wedding of the century.
With dazzling fight choreography, laugh-out-loud gags, and a heartfelt core about love, identity, and family bonds, Polite Society is a high-kick celebration of rebellion and sisterhood. Imagine Jane Austen colliding with Jackie Chan — and landing the punch.
